This album is basically a Bridge between the heaviness they had in songs like "The Red Sea" and the brinks of their great songwriting involved with "Panopticon."

my friend burnt a copy of this ages ago. I didn't stop listening to it for like a week, and now I can't find it .

well this is my favourite Isis, but there is not much too choose between this and Panopticon. Having said that, in the absence of truth is definitely more accessible.

this is really, really good, but i was expecting something amazing since the general consensus here is "isis are like the good version of tool" - and i love tool, but idk this just seems montonous. awesome, but monotonous.

yeah i don't really either. also a more accurate way of saying how i feel about this album is it's not really monotonous as much as it's a one-trick pony; calming ambience then slow heaviness over and over. i really like the vocals though.

It's honestly what makes the album for me, but to eachs own.

But yeah Aaron's vocals are amazing.
