i relate so much to that rather dark period in my musical life filled with bands such as Linkin Park and Limp Bizkit. but fact is, it is through that that i got into metal.
LD 50 is an incredible piece of music from begining to end. but it's not the defining album of the nu-metal genre. simply because this album is head and shoulders on a different level (both i terms of technicality and in sogwriting) than any other album categorised as nu-metal.

I used to really like these guys when I was younger. I haven't really listened to anything by them for a while. I might put this on today. This album is by far their best work. This Message Edited On 05.03.08

I like to pretend that this is the only thing Mudvayne ever did.

Well, the next best thing after this is The End of All Things to Come, that alone being a 3 star compilation. This beats the hell out of everything else they have achieved.

Lost and Found and TEOATTC were both shitty albums.

^ I agree. TEOATTC is a solid album. Actually all Mudvayne's albums are a good listen in their own right. This Message Edited On 05.03.08

Not Falling & Silenced are amazing songs. I disagree, I found LAF a nice change to their sound, a bit more stripped back and sounded raw. Chad has shot his voice something shocking though. Go on Youtube and watch their performance of Dig @ Ozzfest in 01' then the Big Day Out in 06', you'll see what I mean.

I liked LAF and TEOATTC a lot at first. Now its only a few songs off each once in a while

yeah well from what I've heard, they've deteriorated quite badly. He seems to yell instead of screaming, and I noticed he needs to stop and take a breath, like he's struggling to get it all out. I know he's a smoker, and I'd say his drinking might have played a part in as well. He sounds terrible to tell the truth. I'm actually looking foward to the new album quite a bit. I rate Martinie as bass player, he's phenomenal on this album.

jesus christ what the fuck happened to this band? this album was the perfect launch for an unbelievable career. they could have matured their sound in time, but they could have done it tastefully. the bass on this album is fuckin lifty brahs. admit it brahs. you secretly dig this album.
