mind you only one guy in the group is responsible for the music, i mean for every instrument. that would be patrick stump.
mind you, when i first heard sugar we're going down, i wanted to stab patrick, stab the rest of them, all the teenie boppers, my ears and then jump off a cliff.
to put it lightly.
i wanted to die.
i thought, THESE DOUCHENOZZLES RUINED MUSIC.
until my 21(at the time) genius fall out boy-hating sister got their cd because she wanted to understand the good reviews, dance, dance was different to me. the video was amusing. everything about them became amusing, (after months mind you).
then i heard songs that were not on the album, all leading to patrick stump and his musical genius. being a musical prodigy myself, i could see it and respect it. he can make hits in all genres, i also heard his voice in better lights, and it didnt grate on my ears. in fact,
he has a beautiful voice. in the studio, they dont fix up his voice on the cds. not to mention he produces every album by himself.
infinity on high was patrick's musical growth. but still everything he does with fall out boy is just a small factor of his ability. he is far more capable, he is too good for the genre.
mind you, he's 23 and he did FUCT when he was 21. after he wrote sugar we're going down, (which he didnt quite like that much, and you can tell when he hates the lyrics cuz he'll slur them) he turned to the drummer and said "i just took care of your kids college tuition" because he knows what will be a hit and what wont.
