With the loss of impressive guitarist Dave Baksh, Sum 41 find a familiar comfort zone on their seemingly Green Day inspired 4th LP 'Underclass Hero'. For the first half, it's a strong release, with the now trio refining their varied back catalogue into a satisfying middle ground that retains the Canadian's knack for fun & catchy sing-alongs. Unfortunately, at 15 tracks & 52 minutes in duration, the album eventually runs out of gas & a few too many ideas get recycled into what are essentially redundant songs. Recommended Tracks: Underclass Hero, Walking Disaster & Count Your Last Blessings.

Hey, Chuck wasn't pop punk. It was somewhat heavier.

[This album has boring lyrics. I prefer aggressive lyrics.]

Listening to Sum 41 and complaining about the lyrics is like watching The Expendables and complaining about the story.

Exactly. And both (Sum 41 and The Expendables) are completely shit.

This album sounds like American Idiot rewritten by a self titled era blink-182 cover band.

I'm actually enjoying this album, it reminds me of All Killer No Filler.
