Unas The Slayer of Gods(at least I believe that was the title) was a kick-ass song. I checked out more Nile and every other song bored me to tears. I will avoid this like a penis joke.

I only ever really liked 'In Their darkened Shrines' by Nile. This one seems to be getting tons of great reviews and tons on sh** ones, bit like the new Behemoth

Great avatar Hbp.
This album is kind of average but redeems itself on a couple of tracks.

edit: i found a typo
the sweep picking at the end if "Language of the Shadows" is pathetic and sloppy

It is sure you won't like it if you hate brutal death metal. This kind of music is complex and not hear friendly. It takes a few listen to get into it. I haven't heard this one but I'm sure it is at least a 3,5. Hail Nile!

1. I like brutal death metal. This is hardly brutal
2. The technical aspects are either a) sloppy, b) boring or c) buried by the production.
Don't make assumptions. It's not ear friendly, but that's mostly because it sucks.

After two very good albums (Shrines and AOTW), I wasn't expecting these guys to really have many good ideas left. I mean, the way they play is very narrow and limited, and there's only so many unique sounds you can make in Drop A tuning, considering it basically makes all the notes inaudible. I might hear some of this...or something...sometime...
Funny review, I laughed.
Oh, yeah, I agree, Karl's solos are downright stupid most of the time. This Message Edited On 07.17.07

I really like this album, the vocals are so much better, the guitar playing is better, the drumming isn't the best but its good enough. The solos are killer, I don't understand why it got a two but thats you opinion, I did enjoy your review, it was entertaining

I was thinking of letting this be my introduction to Nile, but since I end up enjoying much of the metal your positive reviews introduce me to, I will avoid this. Good review.
EDIT: As much as it sucked to see penis, that nipple was quite nice from what little I saw of it. This Message Edited On 07.17.07

I got this tonite, but I havn't gotten a chance to listen to it, and I won't be able to until Thursday, but what I have heard of it in the car ride to where I am sounds pretty solid. Same goes for The Apostasy, but that sounds alittle better.

Oh yeah, "Papyrus Containing the Spell to Preserve Its Possessor Against Attacks From He Who Is in the Water" is like, the worst song on this album tbqh.

Really entertaining review man, I enjoyed it a lot.
I haven't liked this band for a long time and I doubt this will change my mind.
