I'm in Western PA and we got hit with like 8 inches of snow last night. Shit was a blizzard.

The latest tally here was 14, but it kept snowing for another few hours after that. Winds in Quincy reached 68 MPH.

I didn't say I didn't like it...it's alright. first listen tho.

the production is bad. that's obvious. there's a certain amount of charm w/ some stuff w/ lower production values but I'm not seeing it here. but maybe it'll come around.

I enjoyed it overall yeah. not the production. I typically don't care one way or the other about production on stuff unless it presents audible problems, which it does for me here. idk, maybe this is my bm noobishness showing. when I started getting into extreme metal, I just kind of naturally gravitated towards dm. maybe this is part of the reason why?

idk I don't know a whole lot of bm. like I listened to Bergtatt earlier, really enjoy that one. and Under a Funeral Moon, which also has poor production, but not nearly on this level. also really enjoy most of darkthrone's stuff, especially their first 5.

I mean, there isn't much more to say. You either appreciate the atmosphere it creates or you don't ¯_(ツ)_/¯

maybe I will, idk. only one listen in.

it doesn't feel like the production values here are creating an atmosphere, it feels like they're detracting from what it could be. I'm not one for super-shiny production, but this is excessive.

yeh. paysage production is truly magic, but may not make sense. not trying to sound pretentious. hard to explain things. That fuzz is inexplicable.

Aww that's a shame, I understand where you're coming from though, If you feel up to it give Winterkaelte a shot, imo it has a more immersive atmosphere and some cool melodious stuff in amongst the white-out production.

black metal is slow process, and honestly, there needs to be a willingness to sit through stuff you know you won't like until you do. that was my experience at least. there is a certain compulsion bm listeners have to just keep going until it finally clicks

"there needs to be a willingness to sit through stuff you know you won't like until you do"

I mean, being a metal fan, I've been doing this for years
