Cool. I'll get round to it at some point. I'm going to be spending a while immersing myself in their early works first. Once I get 'Candlelight' I'll attempt to digest one at a time (starting at the beginning with Orchid) & then return to 'Still Life'/this etc. after. Unsurprisingly it can be a little overwhelming trying to listen to 5 or 6 albums from the same band at once.

I kind of feel sorry for people who didn't grow up with Opeth.
When you had digested one album, they would release another mindblowing masterpiece and increasing happiness in the local metal community with ~300%.

The riffs on this beast, wow... and although I agree with some (like in the review) that the middle section isn't as strong as the opening tracks, that's because 'Lepper Affinity' & 'Bleak' are so darn awesome. The rest isn't half bad either, just compares badly due to those initial raised expectations.

Drapery Falls has probably become my favorite on here but it took circa a year for it to get to that point

I only experienced this once, as I jumped on the train after Ghost Reveries came out. I was floored by Watershed.

Funny you say that, I literally just played this album whole to Mass Effect Andromeda. Still hasn't gotten old. The motifs and riffs are out of this world

'Mass Effect Andromeda'
Is this any good? Big fan of 1 & 2, 3 was a bit too shooter-y for me. Also, I'm surprised you can jam music while playing a game like ME. Cut-scenes/story etc. I play a lot of Fallout & just avoid doing dialogue based/story heavy missions, which is what I enjoy about that game anyway, random exploring/looting etc.

In my opinion it's very similar to Dragon Age: Inquisition and I absolutely loved that game. So yeah, 20 hours in, I really just love the open-world hoarding-exploring thing. It is imperfect, but I am definitely enjoying it more than 3.
As for role-playing hearing dialogue and shit, I don't have the patience to wait for the characters to say their spiel, I read the subtitles in half a second. In a way it ruins the element of immersion, but then the combination of this kind of music with shooting shitcunts just makes me not care.

Oh and besides the writing for the game isn't that good to merit hearing it. And the facial programming is piss poor.
