I listened to the first two tracks, saw that the album was 78 minutes, and was like, "nope".

I'll go into this now, pretending I wouldn't know anything about this being bad

In the Presence of Enemies Pts. I & II and Ministry are the draw of this one but overall, it's not their best by any stretch of the imagination.

Okay, I'm almost though and it's finally legit tbh. If they pit the best of this and BC&SL on one CD it would be awesome. I still need more time to give this a proper rating. The noodling is a bit much

This album is a huge hindrance in my DT discog run.

I think I really like Forsaken. Now kill me because I have no taste in music

And this is definetly better than Octavarium as a whole. The title track is a classic tho

Nah dude, Octavarium has Sacrificed Sons, Panic Attack, and the title track. Those right there decimate this album.

The Root Of All Evil is best together with the title track. I dig all of these songs to an extent tbh (with the exception of Never Enough. That song just doesn't work imo). But this is no masterpiece for sure but at least as enjoyable as Octavarium. They're two of their weaker efforts tho

"I Walk Beside You" should be your exception - that song has been a running joke in my friend group since 2005

And agree to disagree, this album does very little for me

Totally agreed with the first sentence. Not so much with the second one...

Title track of Octavarium is a classic so I like the second sentence more than the first.

Surely I repeat myself but the t/t does absolutely nothing for me. Wish I could like it but there's nothing that gets my attention.

Ok ok, no sad smileys today. I'll sit down and spin it again this evening. Will see how it goes but I have no high hopes here.

The trick is to delete everything off of your computer except for Octavarium. Cut off your family and friends, quit your job and only listen to that track on repeat for the next several years. Eventually, you will break and lose your sanity and admit that I was right all along as I am maniacally laughing.

Yeah, sounds legit. Especially the maniacally laughing part is very present and tangible in my imagination now.

The highlight on this for me is actually Constant Motion.

Album is really not very good.
