I'm a bit partial to DT as they're one of the first metal bands I loved. However as of late I realized they tend to ruin their songs with wankery. I mean the songwriting is pretty good. But then they wank and it ruins everything. All emotion just ends when the wankery starts. By the way zepp3lin526 DT really arnt that progressive, listen to maudlin of the well, the mars volta or cynic for real progressive music.This Message Edited On 07.04.07

Constant Motion is my favourite song on the album. I don't understand why people hate it so much.

I would suspect them to open the show with that song actually cuz its the single and all, maybe ITPOE instead. They'll prolly close with a classic like metropolis or home, but thatsjust what im guessing. It doesnt matter at all though, i love most of their songs.

Ceirtainly this is not Scenes from a memory neither Images and Words but Dream Theater still knows how to make virtous catchy progresive metal music..

I find this album very unbalanced...
The first half of the album is amazing. Very powerful.
Then the other half is veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeery boring and monotonous...can't listen to the album entirely

you know, i love dt, but this cd hasnt stayed in my player as long as the others. still an amazing record, but just seems lacking for dt.

This is a good album. Nothing else to really say though.

I saw the video for Constant Motion and it was one of the lamest videos I've ever seen, and the song's not that great, especially for DT. Is the rest of the album that bad?

This album really didnt cut it for me, It wasn't bad and The Ministry of Lost Souls is one of their most solid tracks but the metallica-like vocals that Labrie let out just wasn't dream theater...Dark Eternal Night has a catchy chorus yet the verses just dont make the album work

I liked that they're trying to expand their sound, even if it's just by adding "Black Album" era Metallica influences.

Weak for DT, but still above average. Not nearly as good as Octavarium.
