I think Robb is a douche, but as a musician I think he maybe gets a bit too much hate from the "true" scene. I do understand where they're coming from, as Flynn at times does have the tendency to put the business side of the music scene over the actual music: his venture into nu-metal was blatantly jumping in on a trend and sometimes it did feel that with the last two MH albums he tried to milk the formula that was proven successful on The Blackening. Though some make it seem as if everything Flynn and MH ever did is terrible, which isn't fair imo. He had his hand in a few superb tracks on Forbidden's debut, Vio-lence's Eternal Nightmare is a stone cold thrash classic, Burn My Eyes is an amazing album (one could say that MH ripped off Pantera - who in turn ripped off Exhorder - because that groove thrash sound was proven to be successful for Pantera - but I still feel MH definitely put their own spin and twist on the sound), The Blackening is a rare pinnacle for 'mainstream metal' and - this is a personal opinion that not too many might share - I feel The More Things Change is an unfairly criticized album. If I would compile a list of critically underrated metal albums The More Things Change would definitely be on there. Granted, there are more MH albums that don't do anything for me at all than ones that do, but the ones that do hit me, hit hard.

The More Things Change was my introduction to Machine Head and redefined heavy music for me when I was a kid. Until that point I thought Slipknot was heavy. Then the first ten seconds of Ten Ton Hammer came on. Really underrated album, Down To None is one of the band's best songs.

Violate is the other classic on that album. I guess you don't like The Blackening, that's a shame. It's my generation's Master Of Puppets.

It's a flawless album. And that's coming from a band that shit the bed like 4 times in a row.

I tried to like the Burning Red, I really did. It's not possible though.

"None But My Own" came on Pandora today...forgot how hard this rips. Might bump to 4.5.
