In melodic death metal I fuckin agree man. One of my good buddies is pretty into "melodic death" but it's a shame he's mostly just that keyboard dominated stuff.

the less presence the keyboards have, the more i like a given dt album

DT's keyboard work is still quite tastefully done though; on an album like this or Damage Done they really add new textures to the atmosphere
this is opposed to a band like Omnium Gatherum, which almost sounds like a ball of fluff to me

This album has always been a bit of an anomaly for me. I love Damage Done and Fiction and on this there are several incredible songs but also several songs that I think are pretty blah.
