This is a modern classic metal EP to me. Just about everything on this slays; needless to say it's one of my favorites along with C33.

Hey bodom what are you going for next in the Mesh discography?

Well, I just picked up this and Destroy, Erase, Improve today. I'm thinking of getting Chaosphere next, as New Millenium Cyanide Christ is awesome (and the video's pretty funny as well.)

Yea New Millenium Cyanide Christ rips and Chaosphere is a very solid album but beware, it is named (Chaos)phere for a reason!

I'm only a recent convert to Meshuggah and the I ep was the first of their material I bought. After listening to their back catalogue it's still my favourite song of theirs. The opening to the track is very reminiscent of Anthrax's song Time from their 1990 album Persistence of Time. Meshuggah must have been influenced by this album with it's different time signatures and very flat, bass driven sound.

For the first minute. Yes, but after that I turn on a good song.

This is probably the only thing they've done that I can listen to all the way through.

^ agree, except for obZen. That one I can handle all at once.

I is the perfect EP from a should-be EP-only band.

Catch 33 is their best and shouldn't be an ep.

Members also liked Opeth, Opeth, Opeth, Opeth, and Opeth. Well I don't but I love this!

Great review, very objective and well-written ("a true metal masterpiece" would seem to warrant a 4.5 though).

I'm a lot like Cocaine. I can't listen to a lot of Meshuggah without stopping. It can get a little repetitive. But this. This is completely epic!
