Ok, it's a good review, although I must say that this is an extraordinary album. But you have to pay atention into the story. Leave out the overtures, etc... and what you got? Hammerfall....and anyway, you can always put on the cd and select the tracks that best suit your taste...but there are times, every now and then, that you want to enjoy the whole story. Come on guys, it's about an epic being told!!!

About as close as you can to being a man if you a young teen boy and want to grow up really fast. It really depends on your look on the whole "Strip me down to a loin cloth and oil up my pecs and buttocks"...because this album will most def try and make it at some point. A good thing? Hmm....homoerotic metal or true metal?

Im just copy pasting this from somewhere:

I just have to share one of the daftest things I've seen all month: in the booklet to Manowar's latest opus every word is written in a made up, rune styled language to which they provide the key. So, they actually expected the average Manowar fan to sit through it and painstakingly decode every word to find out what DiMaio and co. are rambling about. Now that's what I call being out of touch with your fanbase, you know, scholars and linguists aren't usually the target audience for songs with lyrics like "Blow Your Speakers with Rock n'Roll". I'd be delighted to be proven wrong in any case.

You know, negative and condescending aren't synonyms.

I am fairly positive that Castamir does not know what a synonym is.

I'd say this review is the best I've seen on this site yet! Very accurate summation of the disappointment I'm sure most power metal fans felt after one overture track ended and another began on this ridiculous album.

'god of war' is a fun album. I was lmao listening to some of the ramblings that go on. it is pure manowar, metal or not. its all part of the culture, making the album beyond epic, overtures of overtures, it really was over the top. But that is where the beauty lies!!!

I love the lyrics (hung upside-down for nine days....from eight directions into eight dimensions...etc), i love the power ballads (beaf out the choruses esp. on 'Sleipnir', 'Die for Metal' etc) and i love the metal (if you thought the album was crap, take another listen to 'Sons of Odin' and 'Die for Metal' and try tell me honestly that those aren't amongst the top ten power metal tracks of all time).

Stop being so hard up, and enjoy the music, cheesiness and all!

This isn't pure Manowar. Pure Manowar died sometime in the late 90s.

Hold your head up high
Raise your fist up in the air
Play metal louder than hell
Louder than hell

They can't stop us
Let 'em try
For heavy metal
We would die!

Anthem for the new century I tell you. It's just a shame the rest couldn't compare.

This is the most musically involved album of Manowar's career. There are certain similarities to other Manowar albums, but through employment of the Wagnerian motivic system. Sure, the dialogue sucks, but look past that to hear how truly epic and great this album is.

I think that Warriors of The World had some golden moments. This did too but there is just too much keyboard and not enough aural penetration.

I haven't even bothered listening to this album, but Die for Metal is the best song ever.

THEY CAN'T STOP US, LET 'EM TRY

FOR HEAVY METAL WE WILL DIE

I swear, I've never gotten more pumped at any song ever. I couldn't even stop myself from headbanging like hell. Whenever I was told to raise my fist up in the air, you had better believe that's exactly what I did.

hehe. It's not like they suck ass as a lot of people claim but they're not like they used to be in the 80s or even 90s either.

Not that bad, but is really chessy even for the standards of a hardcore power metal fan like me.
Besides thiss not finely cut cheese because the instrumention is less effective than in the previous
works, you understand me ?
