...and then some. They've got some metalcore-esque breakdowns and whatnot, but then a song like "Croakies and Boatshoes" will come along and sounds pretty death-metal influenced.

this band is basically a melting pot of metal. Metalcore, black metal, death metal, some power metal, and even just straight up metal all make their appearances throughout the album. the genre blending is part of the appeal.

They have some grind influence too.

I dont sense much grind influence. The "growl" that is associated with grind is actually a death growl. Grind by definition is mere chaos, and while there is no pattern in most of btbam's music, it follows structure. Its there, you just have to listen for it ( the structure i mean)

what? no seriously what?

capitalizing the first letter of a phrase and putting a period at the end of it doesnt make it a sentence. what does that mean exactly?

For a 4.7 GPA, your grammar is atrocious.

I don't understand grind, so I'll leave that conversation alone for now.

I love the vocals.

The vocals in this album are a complete mystery to me. Usually you can tell what kind of emotion singers are putting into what they sing (or scream)... but this is an enigma, between the clean and the screams.

The vocals in this album are amazing. Save for Mikael Akerfeldt, I can't think of a screamer I like more than Tommy Rogers.

I'm not sure who Trevor Strnad is but Randy Blythe is probably the worst vocalist in music today.

Would BTBAM be considered as Progressive Deathcore in general? This Message Edited On 05.21.07

Please don't use the term deathcore.

I would just say they are progressive metal. They have elements from a ton of different genres; death metal, hardcore, metalcore and some technical death metal.

But, please, do not use the term deathcore - it's nonsensical.

Its more progressive death metal.
