I'm listening to this for the first time now, I'm expecting to hear what the review said, so I don't think I'll be dissapointed.

hmm... yeah this album is great, but not as great as his earlier ones. If he finished this alive, it would have had 2 discs, about 10 songs more, and some of these tracks probably wouldn't have even got to the final release.
And yeah just like this review said I think The Last Hour, Let's Get Lost, Twilight, King's Crossing, Pretty (Ugly Before) and A Fond Farewell are the standouts.
Enjoy

Oh yeah, and Memory Lane of course..
well, they're all good! Exept 'Ostriches & Chirping, but that "song" was not created by Elliott and got here accidentally. You see Elliott never wrote one single bad song.

This has gotta be my favorite of Elliott's. While not quite as flawless as X0 or Either/Or, it includes his amazing masterpieces King's Crossing and A Fond Farewell. Lyrics are beautiful...

His self titled is the best. No contest. Christian Brothers, Alphabet Town, Southern Belle, Coming Up Roses etc. are unbeatable. It's in the top 3 of the best albums of the 90s in my opinion. I also love his first album, tracks like Condor Ave. or the instrumental closer Kiwi Maddog 20/20. Magic. One day I'll write on his memorial wall, 4334 Sunset avenue Los Angeles.

This is so, so good. I think every song on here is pretty much great, but I seem to like his electric stuff more than most people. This Message Edited On 03.08.09

Great review for a near perfect record. Too bad songs like True Love never got an actual release....that would have beat out Twilight.

you'd think that for as long as i've held all his other shit in such high esteem that i would've checked this out before now, but christ this may become my favorite album of his. the more electric-oriented stuff on this album absolutely kills. love the wall-of-sound production on "coast to coast." fuck. every song on this is awesome.

This is the place you'll end up when you lose the chase. Where you're dragged against your will from a basement on the hill.

A Passing Feeling is the best song here
