Black Sails is similar to All Hallows. You don't really need to work backwards, if you like All Hallows you'll definitely like Black Sails. I highly recommend you do though, and check out AoD too, they're both albums you just can't miss out on.
I don't know, there's something not quite right about BSITS that just doesn't sound quite right. I LOVE the All Hallows EP along with most of AoD but BSITS just doesn't do it for me. It just doesn't grab me as much, though I love the hardcore punk style
