Self-inspecting, light-ejecting, human recollecting...

Our instruction, his induction, big production (Patton sounds like a god on that line)

Well everyone keeps saying good stuff about bssm, but it didn't work any wonders on me as a listener. too much repetitive funky chugging and melo-reciting

I just don't think I've ever heard anybody say it wasn't the weakest or second-weakest track on the album.

None of Them Knew They Were Robots is my favorite.

all the songs on this album are fantastic compositions. but i like the holy filament the best cos of its atmosphere and top notch vocal arrangement. it starts kinda like a sacrifical cult theme, then it goes into some lonely all hope is gone interlude, and back into the cult theme, and then right at the end happiness explodes out of nowhere like a flower blooming for the first time. plus the song was written by trevor dunn!!

That's a really solid analysis of the track; I've just always found it marginally less-interesting when compared to the other, more conventionally-exciting tracks. The whole album is remarkable, though.

Patton's singing on Vanity Fair is something else.

it is indeed, and the placement of the tracks is genius as-well

after the sombre calmness of holy filament, the bouncy vanity fair kicks in, and i find that makes the impact somthing else. then the ending of the album with goodbye sober day, there's no question about it, it's defiantly the best closing song for this album.

Holy Filament is sweet, probably my least favourite track if I had to choose but still gorgeous. I picture myself being in the desert in Egypt or something, with the sun setting and the sand around me looking almost purple.

Goodbye Sober Day... holy fuck

The Holy Filament was pretty interesting and it certainly isn't bad or anything, but it isn't the greatest song on the album. Ars Moriendi is the best song :D
