I think it improves the flow and provides some needed variety to the second half that's all. The original second half felt lacking because there was just a bunch of more of the same. Wolves adds some extra dynamics.

In terms of structure it might be true that what I refer to as the "last half" of the album might rather be the last third or quarter lol. I think everything flows very well like a logical progression to In Her Shadow, which is like the end note of the "first half" to me. Then Eagles kicks off the second half where they just kinda put some more stuff and it doesn't have the same effortless flow as the first half did. I think Wolves helps improving that, it helps fleshing it out a bit more.

I'm comparing the songs here side by side with Redux and it's not even close. There's not even a reason to keep this in your library if you have the remix/remaster.
