Ahh Red Dwarf, so many good moments.

Like when Holly trades his IQ for lifespan and ends up going from 6000 to 10.

Don't stress out man haha, they aren't the best books i have ever read. The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is more upper-class! this is why there should be a sputnikbooks website

lol, just as soon as they startup a sputnikmovies (seriously, I would so join it if they did)

And I loved them, sure Hitchhiker's was more upper-class, but Red Dwarf had some absolutely gold moments.

ah yes, movies are much more important compared to books amirite? Red Dwarf does have some gold moments, but i'm still convinced they are pretty mediocre.

lol, its just easier to watch and comment on a movie then it is a book. Its also easier to interpret them without pissing people off. Note well the lack of good book to movie adaptations.

Hmm, oh well, I'll reserve my final judgement for when I find and read them again

well you see the bad thing with movies and music you can just state "crapppp, they should stop broadcasting mel gibson" or "meh. Mikael Akerfeldt haz elf earss lolzolz!~ "

whereas the people that actually read are much more mature and can express themselves much more fluently. Of course there are musical critics on this site that can equally be mature but, still, a lot of people here are dumbasses

Hmm, oh well, I'll reserve my final judgement for when I find and read them again

only way to determine you're opinion.

Very true, on all points. The other issue is that it can take a few days to read a book, but it takes an hour to listen to an album and 2 hours to watch a movie.

Therefore making music reviews is far easier.

I really do have to get back into reading, I've been sloppy lately, haven't completed a book in a couple of a months.

Favourite authors?

That's a problem with books, indeed

Favourite authors? easily the mythical grandeur of J.R.R Tolkien surpasses everything.

Ah, I always respected Tolkien, you can't deny he was the greatest author of the 20th century.

But why on earth did he have to have pages upon pages of absolutely nothing happening?

I stopped reading The Fellowship Of The Rings after the chapter with Tom Bombadil where the story didn't progress one bit but he filled more than 5 pages anyway.

Meaning no disrespect to him of course, I do recognise his incredible skill as a writer.

just the way he writes. He describes every movement, colour and even random shit that doesn't even portray any importance with greatness. Bores a lot of people understandably

Hmm, but I suppose the reward is even greater for those that can get through it.

Indeed, one does feel much more accomplished after reading J.R.R Tolkien - whether a full-on chapter or trilogy

Aye, completing the few chapters I did did give me a fine sense of accomplishment and pride, not because I'm like "ooh look, I can read Tolkien" but because of how great the story actually was.

Yeah The Fellowship of the Ring is a more accesible, if tolkien ever is, book compared to The Silmarillion and such like.
