still think the songwriting on her 2nd is better though
|
| |
Wish she would make a new album already. That crap she pulled with tpain was just wrong.
|
| |
her 2nd album is probably one of my favorite "pop" albums ever

On her debut LP 'Alright, Still', 21 year-old Lily Allen parades her cheeky side, over vocals that range from enchanting to annoying. With witty & humorous lyrics providing the album's most memorable moments, the base pop sound is given a touch of something distinctive by incorporating ska/reggae elements. Catchy singles 'Smile' & 'LDN' stand well above the rest, although tender piano ballad 'Littlest Things' is a surprising revelation. Unfortunately, the simplistic & amateurish nature of many cuts wears thin by album's end, with the LP's 2nd half predominantly falling flat. Recommended Tracks: Smile, LDN & Littlest Things.
