People have just been spelling it wrong a lot recently, it weirds me out

This sounds absolutely amazing. I'll have to look into this.
Great review, very well written but I have a small problem with the "Post Rock Is Dead" part. Sure, it used to be much better, but there are still many great Post Rock performers and albums being released.

| |
I agree with Jared on that
Most post-rock stuff that gets released as of late is vanilla

For everybody who doesn't know how to spell Burt's name just think of it as the composer Wagner. That is pronounced "Vagner" btw. Do it.

Burt's first ep was pretty sweet so I would imagine this is too.

Downloaded this and gave it a listen; I really liked it. I like the somewhat lo-fi nature of it. Not quite a 4.5, though.

It was an LP
sorry but this is pretty boring ****
at least in the realms was listenable
I don't understand that
If anything Realms is less listenable, it has a ten minute noise track and feels longer than this record even though it's shorter by twenty minutes
Most everyone I know who got Realms listens to the first four tracks and turns it off

Kisses for your pic, SubtleDagger. Mike>>>>Joel.
Alas, after a little while of looking it seems the internet is the way to go to buy this.
|
| |
Ugh, Mike vs. Joel is the most annoying argument ever
Also you can't buy either right now, when I get some money I'll start shipping but right now it's only available digitally for free

Hmm, this album is not bad at all upon first listening, but I liked In The Realms a bit better as well. Perhaps because there was more differentiation in between the tracks on that one. I'm gonna have to listen more to this one to fully judge it though.

I have this on my computer and it's quite decent. The only problem is I have trouble listening to it the whole way through (sorry, not many half an hour tracks have kept my attention) but I can pick out some very cool parts in the two songs.

I don't understand the string of 1-star ratings at all. I reserve 1s for music that has almost or no merit at all, and even people that don't like music like this can at least realize the talent Burton has and displays in his sonic crafting and execution. It's far from what I expected, but I still think it's a beautiful album that expands on the last album, leaving out elements and substituting raw volumatic power for tenderness and subtlety.
Awesome work, Burton, and an excellent review by pixiesfanyo.

I think the tracks on this album are too short.

The more I listen to this the more I'm enjoying it. I get more of a sense of the divides between sections just by becoming familiar with the chord progressions and motifs. Right now, I'm sitting on a 4, but I'm going to let this album sink in a bit more.
|
| |
Right now, I'm sitting on a 4 I bet it's uncomfortable.

I bet it's uncomfortable
Yes, I should have made it a nice straight-lined 1 so it'd enter more smoothly.

looks to me like several of the 1 ratings are from user accounts made for that purpose only.

Personal vendettas are no good at all.
Anyway, I'm downloading and I'd like to think it's in the same line of ITRoAS, but like, Burton Wagoneer actually grew up and learned from what he did. High expectancies.
