1 of 6 thought this review was well written

Displaying all that makes Bad Religion great is the process of belief. The album is very punk and true to its roots yet it has something/things that appeal to all audiences. The lyrics are unmistakeable and well thought, the lead singer Greg Graffin truely is a genious and has ways to convey his thoughts. The instructments aren't what you'd expect from a punk band, yes I said it. There are solos and drum fills, and the drumming isnt the standard snare, bass, tom with some symbals, it must be a full set. While the guitarist cant play amazing arpeggios, he definatly is talented and he is very rememberable.

The album is a solid one, all the way through are songs that have their own feel and they all sound different, which only good albums can do. While only 3 were released as singles they probably could have gotten away with 6 or 7 and all had been great.

lyric samples:

"the process of belief is an elixer when youre weak
i must confess i dont endulge on the sneak
but generally my outlooks not so bleak
im a materialist, call me a humanist"

"the media parading, disjointed politics founded on petrochemical plunder and we're the hostages... this world's going to hell...
dont allow.....
...KYOTO NOW!"

Supersonic- the first song, its very fast paced and short, but good quality, at one point was my favorite song for the feel and pace

cant stop it- a little slower than supersonic, but still fast with good lyrics and feeling and emotion

broken- slow and great melody, slightly melancholic, great listening in a dark room, i personally relate myself with the song

destined for nothing- the first qoute is from this song and this is a great song to sing along, but also to watch and listen to. greg really says what needs to be said even if it pisses off a couple people in the process

materialist- best lyrically song, i would have qouted it all if i could have kept up. its just amazing song, the vocals really take over this song, but its all you need, its great.

kyoto now- after the kyoto protocol to fix the environment and do away with ghey *ss hummers which has never been ratified by the american gov't. once again great lyrics, i really dont know how he does this, he is a genious. second qoute from this song.

sorrow- the most popular song from the cd. its a solid song, good lyrics... good guitar... melodic.. insightful. "when all soldiers lay their weapons down, when the kings and our queens reliquish their crowns, when the only true messiah rescues us from ourselves, its easy to imagine there will be sorrow no more". good guitar part 2 minuts into it.

epiphany- slow and good, lives up to all the other songs.

evangeline- good guitar and vocals, once my favorite. good back up singing. good drums and bass too. what else to say but good, this is the 10th song and its still great, i cant say enough that the lyrics and guitar keep you going until the very last song.

The defense- the second single and second most popular song, classic bad religion. really an intuitive song like all the other songs, good intellect in the lyrics.

bored and extremely dangerous- last track, number 15 and its awesome! its slow, like most final tracks are, but it picks up and is a sensation
for the ears and dies part way through then comes back, i suggest listening to the whole thing, its great.

This album rox my sox every time I listen to it. Truly one of BR's most solid albums, and WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY better than their Atlantic recordings by a mile. IMHO their 4th best record (No Control, ATG, Empire Strikes First and maybe Suffer edge it out).

i own this and no control, and they're both amazing albums. this shows how they've progressed over the years, but still retained the ability to make great music.

That's all you've got to say about Epiphany? One of their best songs IMO. Reasonable review, you could have said more about most of the songs - I'm not saying I could do better, because I suck at wiriting things like this - but if it's going to be a track-by-track then you should wirte more about each song and write about all of the songs.

This review wasn't all that great... not very descriptive or informative, poor grammar, and man did you butcher those lyrics.

Great album, got me into BR.

materialist- best lyrically song, i would have qouted it all if i could have kept up. its just amazing song, the vocals really take over this song, but its all you need, its great.

you did quote it buddy, your first lyric sample is from materialist, not destined for nothing

other than that, and some spelling errors, your review wasnt too bad

Sure, this and The Empire Strikes First sound almost exactly alike, but who's complaining?
