Integrity are more melodic than ever on Howling, with clean licks complementing the (toned down compared to usual) crossover thrash/metalcore assault. It's a tad too long, but it nevertheless brings a breath of fresh air in the veterans' discography.

A very interesting explorative album for Integrity that sees them incorporate everything from black metal, to sludge, and even soul into their iconic caveman style of metalcore. Sometimes the experimentation lands perfectly such as on Serpent of the Crosses and String up My Teeth other it comes off as interesting on first listen but not memorable in the big picture of their catalog.

Almost impossible to label this album only in one genre. The diversity is quite impressive, but sometimes annoy. It's a great listen, but the long tracks don't keep up to the entire material.

This album is an awesome crossover. Hardcore, Trash and some nice dark aspects, sludgy and doomy
to.
Good production. The vocals and the songwriting are excellent. Clearly deserves to be reviewed,
and clearly deserves a better rating! Experienced musicians doing something special here! This is
top 20 2017 metal records candidate.

Metalcore meets Crossover Thrash sprinkled with some hardcore. Howling is one key word to describe the 47 minute onslaught led by very enthusiastic, relentless vocalist Dwid Hellion. Hellion sounds like a cross between a 90s NYC hardcore vocalist and Lemmy and he unfortunately only has one constant approach. This yelling rarely leaves the strong guitar work to shine and becomes fatiguing by the 6th or 7th track. Speaking of the guitar work, the riffs are generally well above average with a unique blend of old school thrash and hardcore styling. Solos are sprinkled throughout and 'Serpent in the Crossroads' finishes with a heartfelt lead guitar complimenting Dwid Hellion's shouting, a highlight of the album. An interesting and ambitious crossover thrash/metalcore effort with borderline excellence in the guitar work but vocalist who becomes tiring fast and never leaves breathing room for the instruments to bloom.
