Perhaps the best thing to take away from Purpose is Noisia's stringent attention to
detail and uniformity. It's been some time since we've seen this Dutch trio so straight-
forward in their approach, and in their attempt to create such a streamlined release they've
hit upon a somewhat formulaic yet rewarding blueprint.
I'm not quite sure what the other soundoff is referring to with "their older underground
style", mainly because a) they never had an underground style, and b) if they did, this
isn't it. Purpose is still based upon the same principles that saw Noisia turn their
back on seminal tunes like 'The Tide' and 'Exodus'; the focus here is still very much on the
pummeling funk that Neosignal, the Virus crew, Project Trendkill and all the Vision
affiliates have been curating for the last 6 or 7 years. And while it's an old trick, it's
still a good 'un. Just don't come in here expecting the kind of genre epilepsy that Noisia
have played with in the past... this boiler room is open to one sound only
Well shit, he went and deleted it
